Strategic Cooperation Agreement Inked by Shenzhen Finance Institute and Futian District Government
On the morning of December 16, the signing ceremony of strategic cooperation between Shenzhen Finance Institute (SFI) and Futian District People's Government of Shenzhen was held in Futian District.

SFI is a higher education research institution established by CUHK-Shenzhen and entrusted by the Shenzhen Municipal Government. As early as December 2017, SFI settled in Shenzhen International Innovation Center, with its education carried out in the Futian District. Besides, it has witnessed stable and extensive cooperation with the head office of the People's Bank of China, Shenzhen Stock Exchange and other institutions, and at the same time; emerged in the international arena through building strong connections and partnerships with Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the International Monetary Fund, among other world-renowned universities and international organizations.
The professional settings of SFI highly echoes with the district’s role as a financial center. Therefore, its settlement is not only in line with the needs of the district’s industrial development, but also conducive to its own development in a long run. The successful signing of the agreement marks a new stage of comprehensive and in-depth cooperation between the two sides.
Following its founding plan, SFI’s developmental priorities include: 1. to build an internationally influential training center for innovative and top-notch talents in the fields of finance and economy, covering master programmes in finance, economics, accounting, data science, management, marketing, information management, and business analysis, as well as an EMBA programme in finance, among other high-end training; 2. to build first-class and internationally renowned innovative think tanks to resolve the major social and economic issues faced by Futian and Shenzhen by leveraging its advantages, cutting-edge research forces, financial capital and industrial resources from universities and industries; 3. to introduce high-level professionals from home and abroad to Futian so as to provide high-end intellectual support for the regional and economic development of Shenzhen and Futian District and facilitate the landing of the Belt and Road and Greater Bay Area initiatives.
To sum up, Futian District and SFI will make every effort to build a vivid example of a “metropolitan university” and contribute to Shenzhen’s development as a pilot demonstration area of socialism with Chinese characteristics as well as a driving force for the Greater Bay Area.
